What is #OregoniansGive?

Whether you were born here, or chose this place as your home, you make Oregon what it is today -and you can play a part in a brighter tomorrow. #OregoniansGive will bring together people from every city, town, and rural community, in a statewide #GivingTuesday celebration of what it means to be Oregonian. Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 29th, to inspiring giving and volunteerism across the state.


When is #OregoniansGive?

#OregoniansGive is celebrated on Nov. 29th, 2016 from midnight to midnight.


Is my organization eligible to participate?

Any 501(c)(3) organization headquartered or providing services in Oregon is eligible to participate.


Why should my organization participate?

In just four year’s time, #GivingTuesday has become a global day of giving which nonprofits from around the world have had success with reaching new donors, inspiring more giving, and recruiting new volunteers. And #GivingTuesday has experienced massive growth, between 2011 and 2012, the event saw a 53% increase in donations year-over-year. And a 90% increase over last year. As more nonprofits participate, #GivingTuesday’s reach expands to an ever increasing base of supporters. Your nonprofit’s participation in #GivingTuesday alone, can make all the difference in helping achieve your fundraising goals —reaching new donors, and gaining new volunteers.

And, by joining #OregoniansGive on #GivingTuesday, you can expect these benefits for your nonprofit:

#OregoniansGive campaign will provide you with resources for a successful campaign. Listing your nonprofit on the https://www.oregoniansgive.org web site, will help new donors find you, and inspire your donors to help you reach your giving goal. Using the #OregoniansGive hashtag in your Twitter feed, will focus the #GivingTuesday campaign on nonprofits throughout our state, including yours, helping you make connections with new donors who support the work you do. Reporting your nonprofit’s results to the https://www.oregoniansgive.org campaign page, will inspire more giving for all Oregon nonprofits as we get closer to our goal of $3.9 million raised on Nov. 29th, 2016.


How can my nonprofit participate?

Search for your organization by name or EIN here. If you do not see your organization listed, you will have the opportunity to create your organization’s profile. You can check out the support articles to walk you through the process, or you can email admin@oregoniansgive.org for more information.


How much does it cost?

It is FREE for organizations to participate in #OregoniansGive and to collect donations on Nov. 29th, 2016.

To maintain a profile on the GiveGab platform year round, GiveGab retains a 5% campaign management fee from all donations, capped at $20 per donation. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.2% + 30¢ for all major credit cards (3.5% + 30¢ for American Express) on a per transaction basis. Donors are given the option to cover the fees and a majority of them do. If they cover the processing fees, 100% of their online charitable gift will go to your organization.


Who is GiveGab?

GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy-to-use products that allow organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


What is the deadline to ensure my participation in #OregoniansGive?

The deadline to register and have guaranteed inclusion in #OregoniansGive is November 28, 2016. Register today. To gain the benefit from the tools available, from your volunteers engaged in #OregoniansGive and to reach new donors, register today and start promoting #OregoniansGive as part of your year-end campaign. Your profile on GiveGab is available 365 days a year for fundraising and volunteer management.


Can more than one person claim admin access on our organization’s page?

Yes, pending approval from existing administrators. All administrators will need to create profiles on GiveGab. Every person who has administrative access will receive emails about updates to their page. You can also follow the steps here to add an additional administrator.


How much of the donation will go to our organization?

Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.2% + 30¢ for all major credit cards (3.5% + 30¢ for American Express) on a per transaction basis. 100% of all donations are tax-deductible for the donor. All donations will be officially receipted for tax purposes by GiveGab.


Can we be sure that the https://www.oregoniansgive.org platform will be reliable and not crash from the influx of traffic on one day?

Yes, the technology provider, GiveGab, has a track record of 100% uptime with no performance degradation for ALL of their giving days. GiveGab runs on highly-available, secure, scalable, market-best Cloud provider technologies. Their data and sites are fault-tolerant with numerous “real-time” backups. When will we receive the donated funds?

Organizations will receive all donations, less any uncovered processing fees, within 3 business days via direct deposit as long as bank routing and account information has been verified. GiveGab uses a PCI Level I compliant payment service to ensure that all financial data is secure.


How does an organization know who has donated and how much? Can I download a report?

All organizations that participate in #OregoniansGive will be able to access and download a .CSV of their donations via their administrative dashboard on GiveGab. The report is updated in real-time and will include the donation payout date for bank account reconciliation, donation information (including a breakdown of the fees), and the donor’s name and contact information. What is #OregoniansGive?

#OregoniansGive is part of #GivingTuesday. We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, people from around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. And be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity


When is #OregoniansGive?

#OregoniansGive is part of GivingTuesday: November 29, 2016, midnight to midnight.


Which organizations can participate?

Organizations that are verified 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits that are headquartered or provide services in Oregon


Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through the #OregoniansGive online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating nonprofit will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 24-48 hours.


How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?

On GivingTuesday, November 29, all donations will have a processing fee of 2.2% + 30¢ for all major credit cards (3.5% + 30¢ for American Express) on a per transaction basis, and no other processing fees. You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded.
Any donations made to a nonprofit on the GiveGab platform after GivingTuesday will have an additional 5% campaign management fee from all donations, capped at $20 per donation.


Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.

You have the option to make your donation anonymous. Anonymous donations will be displayed as "Anonymous." on the organization's page. Organizations will still have access to your name and email address.


Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.


Can I pre-schedule a donation for #OregoniansGive?

You cannot pre-schedule your #OregoniansGive gifts, but you may make a donation to a participating nonprofit before or after #GivingTuesday (Nov. 29). In order for your donation to be counted towards prize incentives awarded on #GivingTuesday it must be made between midnight at 11:59 p.m. on November 29, 2016.


What if my preferred organization is not listed?
